So, this book was INSANE! Simply amazing. I was entranced with the world from page one and each and every character along the journey, evil and angel alike. FK was released last week and if you are a lover of paranormal romance and haven't yet picked up a copy of Fire Kissed, you MUST!

This is the first book I've read by Erin Kellison and it most definitely will not be my last. I am so excited to read her Shadow series (the prequel to the Shadow Kissed series) and explore the realm of Angels, Mages, and Fae more thoroughly.

Even without reading the previous books, I wasn't lost at all. I think that I was mostly just missing the background to the relationships of supporting characters in FK. Well, that and I wasn't quite sure what Shadow was at first - but it was thoroughly explained throughout the book for us newbies.

Ms. Kellison's editing is flawless. Her ability to create evil is so delicate...I just can't explain it better than that. Even when he wasn't in a scene, Ferrol Grey hovered in between the lines of the pages, watching, waiting, and giving me the heebies. Grey's evilness was innate and viewed by readers in the first chapter of FK, yet he rocks the scale with his endearing qualities and the ability to hide said evilness even from us (for a while).

Our heroine, Kaye, is beautiful, lost and head-strong - even through the death of her family, running in solitude for 10 years to keep away from Grey and then finally falling in love with the enemy...chick just can't catch a break! But watching her heal and grow was incredibly paced and captivating.

Bastian, a/an 1100 year-old angel from The Order, is more than just human perfection and light. And I love that he isn't all angelic - B's got some sass! He also lets some of the darkness in and although that sounds like a bad thing, it really isn't. I think it's simply stepping outside after being in a bubble for years and years. Some dark can make the light that much lighter.

Thoughout this book, Kaye goes undercover into her childhood enemy's lair, allowing her courage to guide her through the slippery black oil of Grey House. Well, her courage and obvious love for Bastian.

I really fell in love with so many characters in this book and hope to see them in the next installments. I followed along with the mage-politics and version of our world and understood the conflict between races. I couldn't keep my hands off of this book and can't WAIT until book two in the Shadow Kissed series is released!

Jenna Lynne
