It's Monday...What Are You Reading?

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you've had a great reading week last week and are ready for another. Of course this week holds Valentines Day and I'm looking forward to some romance reads. :)

Thank you to Sheila over at Book Journey for hosting this meme.

Last night I started Twist (Mageri, Book Two) by Dannika Dark. I finished the first book in the series Sterling in one sitting and had to see what comes next for Silver and the three sexy men in her life.

It's Monday...What Are You Reading?

**This meme is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey to help fantastical book bloggers get connected to share their recent and future reads.**

Happy Monday to all of you beautiful book lovers! I'm very excited to share with you what's coming up on the blog this week and hope that you enter some of the lovely giveaways that I'm hosting this week.

What I Read:

ARC Review
Genre: YA Coming-of-Age
Blurb: Isabel Cruz was fifteen years old when she met Tom Stevens. She was 15 when they started dating, and 16 when she lost her virginity to him. By the time she turned 18 and went to college, everything had fallen apart.

This hadn’t been an ordinary love, though. Not a love between two dear friends, or even high school sweethearts. This had been the most taboo sort of love there was: a relationship between a student and her teacher. Isabel started her high school career as a normal student, but set her sights on Tom Stevens as soon as she met him, and pursued him with an intense – and sometimes reckless – fascination. When he finally approached her after swim practice and told her that he shared her feelings, it was the start of a forbidden and dangerous relationship.

Here's what is coming up next:

Genre: Mature YA
Blurb:
The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate percentage of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance between her and the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University's Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

Genre: Thriller/Mystery
Blurb:
Following the sudden disappearance of treasure hunter Ben Sanders in Mexico, beautiful archaeologist Suzy da Silva is snatched from the cloistered environs of Oxford University and thrust into a deadly maelstrom of intrigue and discovery. Joining forces with astrophysicist Tom Brooking she crosses four continents, to unlock the dark secrets of Tutankhamun's tomb, the Holy Sepulchre and the mysterious Mayan Temple of Inscriptions to reveal a mysterious truth. Together they risk their lives, pursued by martial assassins and renegade special forces, fighting the forces of evil to discover hidden knowledge so precious that it has lain dormant for over a thousand years.

Still Reading:

Genre: Fantasy
Blurb:
When the world was young, and its name was Faerie, the power of magic ruled—and the Elfstones warded the race of Elves and their lands, keeping evil at bay. But when an Elven girl fell hopelessly in love with a Darkling boy of the Void, he carried away more than her heart.

Thousands of years later, tumultuous times are upon the world now known as the Four Lands. Users of magic are in conflict with proponents of science. Elves have distanced their society from the other races. The dwindling Druid order and its teachings are threatened with extinction. A sinister politician has used treachery and murder to rise as prime minister of the mighty Federation. Meanwhile, poring through a long-forgotten diary, the young Druid Aphenglow Elessedil has stumbled upon the secret account of an Elven girl’s heartbreak and the shocking truth about the vanished Elfstones. But never has a little knowledge been so very dangerous—as Aphenglow quickly learns when she’s set upon by assassins.
Yet there can be no turning back from the road to which fate has steered her. For whoever captures the Elfstones and their untold powers will surely hold the advantage in the devastating clash to come. But Aphenglow and her allies—Druids, Elves, and humans alike—remember the monstrous history of the Demon War, and they know that the Four Lands will never survive another reign of darkness. But whether they themselves can survive the attempt to stem that tide is another question entirely.

Review
Blurb: “Don’t think. Just feel.” How a moment’s decision in a silly game with two of her closest friends changes Alexis’ life, and her heart, forever.

It’s the final night of a weekend camping trip with a group of childhood friends. They are recent college grads, about to move forward to the next stages of their lives. It’s a time for reflection, a time for anticipating what the future will bring. What better way to end that chapter of youth and revelry, before scattering into the winds od adulthood, than with one last weekend spent with your closest friends?

But for Alexis, the events of that final evening cause her world to veer in an unexpected direction. What should have been a harmless fame of Truth or Dare with her seemingly platonic pals, Damien and Parker, leads to an experience unlike any she has ever had before.

Blog Tour: Review and Giveaway
Blurb: It’s the last day of the summer holiday in The Hague when Leah Koopmans’s carefree life as a teen is brutally flipped upside down. Her pale skin turns a dazzling gold, her senses heighten, and her muscles possess an uncanny strength. But with these exhilarating new powers comes a thirst that can only be quenched by one thing: human blood.

While her body craves for fresh victims and her heart drowns in guilt, she meets inhumanly handsome Max Machiavelli, who claims that Leah is an immortal like him. Infatuation ignites into blistering passion when Leah joins his coven in Amsterdam. But as the mysteries shrouding her sudden change to immortality unravel, she quickly learns that her aversion to taking life isn’t the only thing that sets her apart from this group of herculean strangers.

I am so excited to read all of these beauties!

This week was a busy week for me - being in Tennessee with my lovely in-laws - and I'm still here! In between eating delicious southern food, shooting my first gun, and trying to stay away from the dinosaur bugs, I've surprisingly been able to get some reading done. So here is an update on plans for the coming week and a recap of what's been happening this past one.

It's Monday and this week will be another busy one. Hubs and I are heading out of town next weekend for 4 days to visit my wonderful in-laws so my posts and reading load will be a little less than normal. :)

That being said, this week I read and reviewed three wonderful books:
Aleron by Kane, Fire Kissed by Erin Kellison, and Rogue's Pawn by Jeffe Kennedy. All of which were unique, the last two being fantastic.

This week, the plan is to finish and review:

Looking forward to a blog tour coming up the week after next and we are almost half way to Giveaway Day! :)

So, Monday will be a preview of what's to come for ya'll this week. Alright, so this week I am finishing up Aleron by Kane, a vampire novel written in like of Anne Rice  - very interesting and well-written and I am hoping to finish this tonight. :)

The next book on my list is Fire Kissed by Erin Kellison, a blazing paranormal romance filled with faeries, angels, and mage-kind. EEK! Super excited about this one.

The third book for review this week is Rogue's Pawn by Jeffe Kennedy. This is an ARC I received from NetGalley set to release on July 16th. I can't wait to get my hands on this book! Just look at that delicious cover. This book is the first in a series about a woman falling into Faerie and with no escape, she's forced to build a life and learn to harness her magic.

EDIT: Can't believe I forgot!!!!

*Sigh* Discovery of Night by Deborah Harkness has been on my mind since I finished A Discovery of Witches ages ago. I am so excited for witches, vampires and romance mixed with the exquisite writing style of Ms. Harkness. *squee!*

I can *hopefully* make it through all three of these beauties. We have an exciting *top secret* Wahoo! Wednesday post this week that may include some puppy pictures. ;)

So, what are you reading this week?

Hugs and Puffy Hearts,
Jenna Lynne
