I read Click: An Online Love Story quite some time ago and was very pleased with the format and hilarity that ensued. When Ms. Becker asked me to review Double Click, I was so excited and couldn't wait to catch back up with the girls (and Mark...and Ethan). :)

Review: Rule (Marked Men, Book 1)

Rating: 5 Stars
Genre: Romance
Author: Jay Crownover Website :: Blog :: Facebook :: Twitter
Series: Marked Men
Publication Date: December 30, 2012

Summary
Opposites in every way . . . except the one that matters.

Shaw Landon loved Rule Archer from the moment she laid eyes on him. Rule is everything a straight--A pre-med student like Shaw shouldn’t want--and the only person she’s never tried to please. She isn’t afraid of his scary piercings and tattoos or his wild attitude. Though she knows that Rule is wrong for her, her heart just won’t listen.

To a rebel like Rule Archer, Shaw Landon is a stuck-up, perfect princess-and his dead twin brother’s girl. She lives by other people’s rules; he makes his own. He doesn’t have time for a good girl like Shaw-even if she’s the only one who can see the person he truly is.

But a short skirt, too many birthday cocktails, and spilled secrets lead to a night neither can forget. Now, Shaw and Rule have to figure out how a girl like her and a guy like him are supposed to be together without destroying their love . . . or each other.

Photobucket

Being the rebel and disappointing his family was common place for Rule. But when his best friend and twin brother died in a terrible accident the bridge tying him to his family crumbled. Living his life the way he pleased and keeping emotions hidden was the only way to survive. As a tattoo artist, he heals other's pain with his tools. But his wounds are scarred over now and the life he lives is his own...except for on Sunday's when Shaw wakes his lazy butt up and takes him to family brunch.

Shaw's life has never been the same since that night. She's kept all of his secrets even in death as she would never hurt him, even if it kills her. Shaw has always been able to balance the "look" of perfection, simply because there is no other option. With parents like hers you would think she would be strong but she's too tired to care really. Honestly? Being in love with Rule is pointless and she knows it. He sees her as his brother's girl, and she was...but she was also his, and he never knew it.

Slow-building, sexy and addicting, Rule is one of those novels that readers can easily identify with. Jay Crownover writes with perfect pace, humor and honesty - and I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read about the other's in the Marked Men series. Tattoos, alpha males and the women who tame them? Sounds perfectly delicious to me!

I am about halfway into ReAwakened and it is just another incredible story from Ada Adams. I'm loving the twists and turns on this one, a little darker than ReVamped (you can find my review HERE) and a new sexy character that I cannot WAIT to read more about. :) I'll be reading until the wee-hours of the morning with this one and hopefully will have my review posted in its entirety tomorrow evening.

Genre: Paranormal Romance Thriller
Author: Sloan Archer Blog :: Facebook :: Twitter :: Goodreads :: Amazon
Word Count: 52,000 Words
Publication Date: February 14, 2013
Buy: Amazon :: B&N

Blurb: After graduating from the prestigious Dewhurst University, Mercy Montgomery finds herself in a bit of financial trouble: over $108,000 worth of financial trouble, in fact. She can’t find a job to save her life, and with bill collectors constantly at her heels, she has no idea how she will ever come up with the money needed in order to keep her head above water.

Mercy’s monetary worries seem to be over after a chance meeting with mystifyingly pale Michael Graves, who offers her a high-paying job at his company, Dignitary. But there’s a catch; the seemingly harmless Dignitary is an underground organization that offers human chaperones to wealthy bloodsucking clients.

As if congregating with the undead doesn’t make life complicated enough for Mercy, there’s a savage killer on the loose who appears to have a craving for her blood. Soon Mercy is torn between a dark and dangerous underworld of supernatural desire and a simple life of practicality, and business magnate Robert Bramson is the man she blames for her confusion. If he just wasn’t so damn sexy… And dangerous. As the killer closes in, Mercy realizes that she must make a decision. But will she make her choice too late?

Photobucket

Mercy is your average college grad. She's from a small town in Florida and moved to California to attend a prestigious university. After graduating with her Bachelors in Psychology, she's struggling to find a job, pay off her loans, and make her late-grandmother proud. With feisty, uninhibited roommate Liz keeping things more than interesting, Mercy finds herself with an unbelievable opportunity to finally rise into the black.

Mercy quickly learns that there are two main rules in this vampire business - you can't tell anyone and NEVER get romantically involved with a client. But keeping her nightly escapades from observant Liz proves more difficult than she thought. Well, that and the complete attraction to her first official vampire date, who also happens to be one of the richest, sexiest, and most dangerous vampires.

Mercy's Debt is Sloan Archer's writing debut and what a hit! What was originally intended to be a short story, quickly developed into a full-blown novel, complete with excellent character development, intelligent, well-developed writing and some smolderingly sexy scenes - what's not to love?!

Sterling is the first novel in Dannika Dark's Mageri series and boy did it start off with a bang! The blurb does a great job explaining the novel so I'm just going to jump right in with the review.

This is the first book that I've read by Dannika Dark and man did she knock me out with her characterization. Zoë and the three sexy men introduced throughout were unique and interesting, requiring some definite *fanning* over here! I loved reading from Zoë's point of view. She is someone that women can easily relate to. She is tough but not unbelievably so. Experiencing what she experienced didn't immediately become inconsequential, instead, she had to heal emotionally and physically from her past and with each new incident. Simply put, she was a real woman dealing with bizarre circumstances at every turn.

BlurbOnce you’ve been touched by darkness, it never leaves you…

Abandoned by her parents as an infant; seventeen year old Hannah spent her childhood wading through countless foster families until being adopted by the Whitman's three years ago. Unfortunately, Atlanta’s high society wasn’t quite ready for Hannah…or the strange events that plague her.

Chilling visions of murder, unexplained hallucinations, and a dark, mysterious guy who haunts her nightmares all culminate to set in motion a journey of self-discovery that will challenge everything she’s ever believed; not to mention her sanity.

Sent to live at The House of Lorelei on Bald Head Island, NC for ‘kids like her’, Hannah quickly realizes things are not what they seem. Her fellow ‘disturbed’ teens are actually the descendants of mythical Sea Gods and Goddesses. And so is she.

But when Finn, the ghost from her dreams, appears in the flesh; her nightmares become reality and her dark visions begin coming true. Inexplicably drawn to him, she can’t deny the dangerous hold he has on her heart. The deadly secrets he harbors will ultimately test her courage and push the boundaries of her love.

She must decide if she is ready to embrace the ancient legend she is prophesized to be a part of. The fate of all the descendants will forever depend upon it.

I'd like to begin saying that this book was AMAZING! I read it in 6 hours...with breaks only for food and dog walking. So, yes, I would most definitely recommend this book to any and all of you paranormal lovers out there. I love the way Kristen Day writes - her journey through the land of sea gods and goddesses is one that I cannot wait to continue uncovering in the release of the second installment in the Daughters of the Sea series, Awaken (Fall 2012).

BlurbThere’s no turning back for Neva Grant. To find a killer, she must seduce the boldest male in the Sinclair pack. Her twin sister lies in a hospital bed, fighting for her life, the fourth and only surviving victim of a vicious attacker. The werewolf rangers suspect the Sinclair pack, and the only way Neva can infiltrate their close-knit ranks is to unleash the wildness within and offer herself to Duncan Sinclair.

Duncan’s appetite for women is legendary on the reservation. But when this new woman stirs his hunger, he finds his desire for her goes deeper than anything he’s ever felt before. When he realizes that she’s playing a game and he’s taken the bait, he is determined to push her to the breaking point. As Duncan and Neva engage in a dangerous dance, they must somehow find a way to join forces—before a cornered killer bites back.

This was a book that I read until the morning light began streaming through my window. I'm a HUGE fan of Keri Arthur's Riley Jensen series and as soon as I saw this book available on NetGalley, I just had to get my hands on it! I knew that Keri wrote several books before Full Moon Rising however after reading the first installment in her Myth and Magic series, I was left rather disappointed. That being said, I couldn't have been more excited and pleased with this sensual and mysterious addition to my Keri Arthur collection.

*(Very Minor) Spoilers*

Beneath a Rising Moon is a delicious tale of a sister seeking revenge by stepping outside of her carefully controlled life and into the pits of a life altering desire. Neva has seldom given into her desires as a young wolf, being reared in a home that prides itself on commitment and control, but that doesn't mean she hasn't wanted to. Heading into the midst of the moon dance and opening herself to her wolf, she plans to seduce Duncan Sinclair, the rebel badboy and only wolf not under suspicion for murdering several of the Sinclair pack's moon mates.

This book was so much more than I expected - honestly? I was blown away by the depth of characters and the world I was thrown into, but let me back up for a minute. When I received this book, my loopy self didn't realize that it was the third in a series. I have series-OCD and must read the previous books before I read/review the next one, to which I've made an exception only after a trusted source has told me to jump right in, so in this case I couldn't have been more excited to learn more about the cameo characters in Goddess In The Middle.

This is the first Terry Brooks novel I've ever read and maaaan was I in for an adventure! Although I really enjoyed the book, I believe having not read her other series did leave me missing some character connections and world building. However, I still connected with the characters, LOVED the world, and enjoyed every moment learning about the Wards of Faerie.
