Follow Jonathan, Kevin, Candi and Sarah as they find their typical high school lives and their worlds totally WRECKED.

I have read and adored so very many of Elle's books and with each one, I have continuously been swept away. Wrecked has been on my to-read shelf for quite some time and now that I've gotten around to reading it, I (as usual) don't know WHY I waited so long!

Twins, Kevin and Sarah, have never wanted for anything. They live in a beautiful home, have their own cars, and are more than popular. The last thing they want to do is spend some of their well-earned summer vacation on a cruise with their parents and the Buckley family for some seal-the-deal corporate hoopla their father cooked up.

Jonathan and Candi Buckley couldn't be more different. A brother and sister with a quirky and loving family, who are socially nonexistent. Candi has been crushing on superstar rugby player, Kevin, for two years now and is hopeful that on this cruise Kevin may finally notice her...but she's realistic, albeit hopeful.

Beginning this book, I was not a fan of the stereotypical mean-girl, jock, nerd, and pretty-but-she-doesn't-know-it characterization. I also didn't know how I would feel about the "cast away" theme. However, while the initial introductions are typical, the emotional development and just plain great writing in this novel is anything but.

I simply loved the development of each of these characters. Jonathan cracked me up with his constant analysis and fact-spouting. His change seemed the most drastic of all of the characters. Kevin really stays true to himself throughout the story. I couldn't STAND Sarah in the beginning but she eventually grew on me and in the end, I really loved her too. Candi really held everyone together. Both shy and protective of those she loves, Candi easily became a favorite for me.

Once stranded, each of their strengths plays a part in survival. Facing and conquering internal demons while learning to survive the elements and each other, Wrecked takes readers on a fast-paced, romantic, and hilarious journey. I would definitely recommend this book!

*Book 2 in the Wrecked series, Reckless, is available now on Amazon.
