It's Monday...What Are You Reading?

Happy Monday everyone! This event is hosted by Book Journey and it's purpose is to give bloggers the opportunity to showcase what we have/will read and link up with fantastical fellow book bloggers. If you participate, don't forget to sign the Linky and visit some of the websites listed!

I hope you all had a great reading week - I sure did! Accomplished all three of my reads for this week and am very happy about it. Each book was just wonderful and I would love to share them with you, check out the Sunday Reminisce to see what you've missed this week.

Also I have TWO INTERNATIONAL GIVEAWAYS going on now. There are only 5 DAYS LEFT in my 100 Follower Giveaway - if you haven't entered yet, make sure that you do. And I am also giving away TWO COPIES (eBook) of The Fire of Dawn (you can read my review HERE).

Now on to this week:

Genre: Romance/Erotica (BDSM)
BlurbAs Brianna comes to terms with the realization that she is no longer a slave, she must figure out what she wants for her life. Forgetting her past isn't an option. It is an integral part of who she is now, and it will forever shape her view of life. The one thing she knows is that she cannot imagine her life without the man who saved her, but can she be what he needs?

Stephan never imagined falling in love with the woman he rescued, but the thought of her no longer being part of his life is physically painful. The scars from her past continue to haunt her, and he is helpless to stop them. All he can do is try to help her work through the traumas of her past. Can he be everything she needs and help her move on?

The two must figure out how to navigate not only their relationship with each other, but also the outside world. A friend from Brianna's past shows up where she least expects them, and Uncle Richard continues to enforce his well-meaning agenda to get Brianna more traditional help. As forces, both friend and foe, threaten to tear them apart, Stephan and Brianna have to navigate the turbulent waters and find what they need in each other.

Genre: YA Post Apocalyptic
BlurbMy name's Bryn Mathis. I'm seventeen years old, and I live in a neighborhood outside of Orlando, Florida. I live alone because my dad died almost a year ago, along with all the other adults in the world. I'm almost out of food and the gangs of kids that roam around my town are getting more vicious by the day.

It's time for me to leave and find another place to live … a place where I can find food and shelter … a place where they won't be able to find me.

Alone, it might have been possible; but now I've got company. I'm worried that I don't have what it takes to get from here to my final destination.

And I have no idea what might be waiting for me when I get there.

Genre: Fantasy
BlurbWhen the world was young, and its name was Faerie, the power of magic ruled—and the Elfstones warded the race of Elves and their lands, keeping evil at bay. But when an Elven girl fell hopelessly in love with a Darkling boy of the Void, he carried away more than her heart.
Thousands of years later, tumultuous times are upon the world now known as the Four Lands. Users of magic are in conflict with proponents of science. Elves have distanced their society from the other races. The dwindling Druid order and its teachings are threatened with extinction. A sinister politician has used treachery and murder to rise as prime minister of the mighty Federation. Meanwhile, poring through a long-forgotten diary, the young Druid Aphenglow Elessedil has stumbled upon the secret account of an Elven girl’s heartbreak and the shocking truth about the vanished Elfstones. But never has a little knowledge been so very dangerous—as Aphenglow quickly learns when she’s set upon by assassins.
Yet there can be no turning back from the road to which fate has steered her. For whoever captures the Elfstones and their untold powers will surely hold the advantage in the devastating clash to come. But Aphenglow and her allies—Druids, Elves, and humans alike—remember the monstrous history of the Demon War, and they know that the Four Lands will never survive another reign of darkness. But whether they themselves can survive the attempt to stem that tide is another question entirely.

Genre: Paranormal Romance
BlurbMiriam's life is a hot mess. Her boyfriend Ben is no longer the man she fell in love with, and he won't stop knocking her around. Every time she tries to leave him or stand up to him, she gets hurt even worse.

Then one day she's saved by a sexy stranger named Jack. He's kind, handsome, and sweet: everything she could ever want and more. And he's determined to protect her at all costs.

As her passion for Jack ignites, so does the rest of her body...

But Ben won't give up his girl so easily, leading to a violent confrontation with deadly consequences no one could have predicted.

    1. *high five* to you! I love three book weeks! It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. ;)

Apocalypsis is a serious topic with laugh-out-loud characters. I literally snorted and woke my husband up last night. Would definitely suggest it thus far. :)

  7. You do have a variety there - I haven't read straight fantasy for a long time, besides Terry Pratchett, and I think that's a mix of scifi/steampunk(my few on that - the hex machine) and fantasy.

The last fantasy I read was Patricia McKillip, Robin McKinley and Robert Jordan. I got all the way through book 9 or 10 and then there was this extremely long wait for the next book, (I think he was sick) so by the time the book finally came out I had forgotten way too much - and those are books you don't want to really re-read, it would take MONTHS. :)

    Happy reading

    1. I haven't read a Terry Pratchett book before - but I'm certainly looking forward to it. I hardly ever read just straight fantasy, but that one looks good, no? :)

And it is really difficult to read so many books and get a little lost after a couple of years. That's how I was with the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini...I bought Inheritance to complete the series and haven't read it because I don't remember anything from three years ago.

Can't wait to see what you read next!

      xo,

    2. I hope you try a Pratchett book - there's so many of them now, and I think all of them are very good. He does a satire on the post office and the pony express. There's a book that has the beginnings of a telegraph like machine. He has a book that has vampires. He has so many different types of species in this books and some of the best deal with the different types coming into this great city, the police department and how they're all dealing with bigotry, equal rites, etc. there's Igors, werewolves, vampires, dragons, witches, sorcerers, trolls, etc. It's not overhwelming though - you get a book that concentrates on one or two, and the next will be about a couple of others. He's brilliant.

    3. I'm so excited and stalking him now! :)

I'll definitely let you know when I read my first TP book - all of them look so darn good! I'll probably read a vampire one first...but Igors just sound awesome.

Thank you for leaving such a detailed and awesome comment! *tackle hugs*
