Each time I read another book by Ms. Danann, I always say it's my favorite of hers, but really, this one is! I simply love these characters and each of their intertwining stories. The Summoner's Tale hooked me from page one.

The story begins with Baka fantasizing about his assistant, Heaven, one of the only women that can't stand him. After another failed attempt at communication with Heaven, he heads down into the sewers below town to save more vampire. Alone.

While continuing this story, we checked in with our other love birds, Storm and Lithia. Lithia's demon daddy makes a surprise visit that ends with some interesting facts about Storm . (You can read a sneak peak of that chapter HERE!)

Then, I was pleasantly surprised to read from Elora's perspective! I couldn't believe how large the role Elora and Ram played in this installment. We find the couple getting ready to build a home before their little one is born, leaving Elora a lot of time alone in the cabin while Ram is in town. Soon, Elora finds herself wandering through the forest, discovering more of the land and the creatures in it...and of course, finding trouble where none should exist.

Danann swiftly menuvers between Baka and Heaven's story and into Ram and Elora's. I was constantly looking forward to reading what was occurring with our characters on "pause," as it were, while lapping up every bit of time with the other couple. We even get play time with the rest of B-team, Song, and more, taking smaller roles in the story but continuing the progress of Summoner seamlessly.

I adored the relationship developments, action scenes, and clever continuation of time travel carried over from the first book. Although I missed our fairy prince from The Witch's Dream, we got to meet another hottie, Blackie's sometimes caregiver and kinda werewolf, Glen. Definitely hope to see more of him! :)

Another hit out of the park for Ms. Danann. The Summoner's Tale is a beautiful romantic story that remains honest with its laugh-out-loud humor and anxiety-ridden action scenes. I simply could not put this book down and am looking so very forward to the next novel in the series, Moonlight, releasing in June 2013.

If you haven't already, read My Familiar Stranger (Amazon) and The Witch's Dream (Amazon) so that when The Summoner's Tale is released, you're ready to jump feet first into the next installment in this fantastic paranormal series.

About Victoria Danann

For the past fourteen years, Victoria has illustrated and authored Seasons of the Witch calendars and planners for 7th-House.com.

Though works of fiction are a departure for me, I have had this series simmering on the back burner of her mind for years. In addition to authoring and illustrating Seasons of the Witch, I play rock music and manage one of Houston's premier R&B/Variety/Pop bands.

This series will include some of my actual experience in the paranormal with fictionalized anecdotes from my journals during the years when I was a practicing "metaphysician", but most of the material is fantasy.
